I'm just at the end of my first year in college, studying computing and IT (among other things). I would absolutely love, to study computer forensics in Teeside Uni, hope I can, after A2. =)
Can someone explain how they attack the encryption password from the memory? So using programs like truecrypt is useless if someone gets a hold of your hard drive?
I'm going to be starting one in September, where are you doing yours? Bedfordshire, BCU, Lancashire, or Nott Trent? I'm gonna be doing mine at Bedfordshire.
If a file has been overwritten then it is highly unlikely you will get it back...many software recovery companies have said even overwriting a file with "0"'s just once cannot be retreived.

No it doesn't unallocated space is when you partition your drive without formating it

A very interesting video. I'm currently doing a degree in computer forensics and we are learning how to do all of this.
