Avistas Kettle Falls Generating Station, a biomass fuel generating plant in Kettle Falls, Wash., is celebrating its 25th year of operation in October 2008. The plant began operating in October 1983. The plant burns wood waste to produce steam which generates electricity.

This video From Wood Waste to Power was created more than two decades ago and chronicles the dedication of Avistas Kettle Falls Generating Station in 1983 while providing an overview of its early operations. Due to its age, some statements and facts in the video are dated. For updated information visit www.avistautilities.com.

Avistas environmental conscience was evident more than 25 years ago, by having the foresight to build a plant that took advantage of the areas natural, renewable resources well before green renewable energy legislation was commonplace.
