Is this some kind of in-joke, misinterpreting the word "rejected" as some kind of made up fake word, "redacted"?

Logically, when his message is rejected, you'd expect it to say, "Message Rejected".

I thought the same thing - but when I looked up the words to the song on JoCo's website, it says "redacted." So I looked this up in a dictionary:

1 : to put in writing : FRAME

2 : to select or adapt (as by obscuring or removing sensitive information) for publication or release; broadly : EDIT

3 : to obscure or remove (text) from a document prior to publication or release

A very appropriate and real word, if not obscure in today's lexicon. You learn something new every day.
