C'est trop mignon, elle est toute pitite notre surya :).

@nondescriptnyc It is the same that Sasha Cohen used. She used it for her short program in two different seasons. I prefer Sasha's musicality to the piece.

@vistaprime It's not their fault Surya couldn't skate between the jumps. She had poor edges, double-footed landings, would brake, telegraphing her jumps just before going into them and she was fortunate to skate in her prime after compulsory figures and before COP.

I wonder if Kristi saw this program at the 89 worlds and thought 'well I'd like to skate to that someday", coz she used almost the exact same music cuts in 92, except that the flow into the last section was slightly altered.

Hmmmm. I have 2 separate CDs w/ Stanley Black's Malaguena, and neither fits your description--and they ALL sound EXACTLY like this one (and Kristi Yamaguchi's, Karyn Kadavy's, Wachsman/Waggoner's, etc. etc.). Try getting a hold of another Stanley Black Malaguena, because my guess is that the one you have is an exception.

I have the Stanley Black version on CD. It's not the same as this. It's close, but not the same. and the slow, spanish guitar part in the middle (my favorite part) is nowhere to be found.

This version is performed by Stanley Black. This is the most popular version of Malaguena in skating for some reason...

OZJR55...if you ever find out where this version of Malaguena came from, pleeease let me know. I've been searching for years. Nobody seems to know!

I Love This Performance! You Rock!
Could you tell me the name of the version of the Malaguena you skated?
