  • @ThatsABiggon Yes flamenco was influenced by morocco... but if you say "Africans" then people will take it as Blacks... its stupid to lump everyone from africa together, even in africa theres a bunch of different tribes with different customs and different things. ANd like I said, saying "it all comes from africa" is like saying "its all european" when talking about harmonically complex music, no doubt the inspiration is there but it would be ignorant to claim that.

  • @InsuperiorTorment, because someone is old doesn't make them an expert, unless he's a couple hundred years old & followed the progress. You can find an example of a guy inferring influence & I can produce countless examples of people all over Africa singing like this. Influence is evident,as they are singing in Spanish, but the extent is debatable, esp.given the regions their ancestors are from. Also, if my memory is reliable, flamenco was partly influenced by Africans anyway

  • @ThatsABiggon

there is video here on youtube on the history of rumba which i willtryto get for you since i cant find, where one of the old cuban(black) rumberos talks about the influenve islas canarias and flamenco style singing had on cuban rumba singing. It's a bit more complicated than "its all from africa", which is silly, because when you have two parent contients (europe and afric) that influence in the new world its bound to create unique crealized forms.

  • @ThatsABiggon i don't remember what i wrote, can u copy and paste in a reply please

  • @InsuperiorTorment, I believe you misunderstood gman2000's statement:He isn't saying the language is not Spanish it's the singing STYLE that's NOT Spanish. It's purely African. If you search the music of central & west Africa you'll hear nearly Identical singing, harmony, rhythm, & percussion+extras that never made it to Cuba (like in the USA, etc.). BTW, it's Afro-cuban because it's African music/culture retained in Cuba. The Yoruba people are the parents of this music in Cuba

  • @gman2000, ditto

  • @PhillyKid07, that's because it is African music... just in Spanish. These are the descendants of captives taken to Cuba by evil people

  • @edwardoalvarez22 negros hijos de monos???pero es q tu eres blanco, pendejo?

  • @masterdeeable1 yes! there is no other culture nor man that can come close. Just mere copys =)
