@ErosaScuderia That's exactly what PRS wants people to believe but guitars are just wood and simple electronics...it isn't rocket science. There are many really well-made guitars out there that cost way less.

@sfilips1 That old saying just isn't true anymore. Inexpensive guitars USED to be poorly made, but now they're all made with CNC machines (computer controlled). And some companies charge fair & reasonable prices, while some others charge bloated prices. Some companies are greedy and make you pay a lot just for their name. I have a $600 Korean-made Dean Cadillac that I like BETTER than my Gibson Les Paul. My Gibson is nice, but it doesn't blow me away like the pricetag suggests it should.

Part 2. Michael voltzs is at only makes Epiphone guitars and basses that's it nothing else. And they are most certainly top professional quality or you wouldn't have big name guitarist like Zakk wylde - Slash - Alex Lifeson and Joe bonamassa who all play Epiphone les Paul's along with there Gibson models. Oh and let's not forget the late great les paul himself. One of les Paul's favorite guitars was a Epiphone les Paul custom. These are only a few guitarist that play Epiphone guitars today.

Toneytoes3895. What some Gibson players don't get is the facts are that Epiphones state of the Art facility in China open in 2002. And still to this day ex Gibson master luthier Michael voltzs is still the main man their at Epiphone China. Michael voltzs was Gibson head master luthier at Gibson USA for 18 years before going to Epiphone China in 2001. I play certain Epiphone models sg's and as far as professional quality there every bit Gibsons equal and much better. The Epiphone China facility

The 2010 epiphone G400 standard 62 sg and the epiphone limited edition 50th Anniversary 1961 sg Reissue are the two very best sg's out today hands down!

Epiphone are better than gibson. Epiphone as one luthier put it epiphones are As high as $450 underpriced and even more.

The majority of people buy gibson because of the name and some say the history. Well if its guitar history you want than its most certainly epiphone you need. Epiphone is responsible for more electric guitar first than any other guitar company in the intire world. Todays epiphones are simply underpriced works of Art! And a lot more. Gibsons havent made a guitar thats up to there own original standards in decades. There nothing more today than overpriced pieces of wood. Todays epiphones are

Epiphone was in The United states for over 75 years before they moved over sea's in 1976. Today most of Epiphones workforce in China from top management to master luthiers are from the USA. There actually from Gibson and Epiphone USA.

People seem to forget that Epiphone is a American guitar company in China. Most of Epiphones work forse are Americans from Top management to some of the luthiers.

It's a simple fact that some of the Epiphone Sg's and Lp's are $350 to $450 underpriced no doubt at all!
