400 protesters Occupy the State House
While Occupy Wall Street, and other large occupy movements have been evicted from their parks, Mirriam Weizenbaum, the OP movement pro bono lawyer is mediating with the city to stay in the park through the winter.
The Rhode Island Coalition for the Homeless, Direct Action for Rights and Equality, the Rhode Island Housing Advocacy Project and Rhode Island Jobs with Justice and Occupy Providence have coordinated the event.
Governor Chafee issued a decision Friday afternoon allowing an overnight protest on the State House lawn.
The Raging Grannies of Rhode Island performed for an estimated crowd of 400 people.
