"The Female Animal" - 10min. cut down from 82 min. Movie giving a rare opportunity to see key Hedy moments from this hard to come by movie. Even Jane Powell, who plays Hedy's daughter in this movie, considered Hedy to be one of the most beautiful women she'd ever met. Co-star George Nader presumably wasn't so captivated as he "leaned the other way". Not a great movie but I think Hedy did a pretty good job with it but being a numero uno fan I would say that, wouldn't I?
Filmed during 1957 and released thru 1958.

  • Apologies for the delay in responding (to PeterAndres18). The videotape was from the USA in NTSC format. Can't recall from where precisely. Probably via Ebay.

I agree (noel888). I think she looked great and gave a very creditable performance. Jane Powell was a bit too old to be HL's daughter (HL would have had to have given birth aged about 15!). Unfortunately the book "Spread Spectrum-Rob Walters" continues to spread the error that her last film appearance was in "Instant Karma".

  • Hedy has more talents and brains than them all.

  • I disagree, however it's all a matter of opinion. Looking at her, in this film, she's still an extremely beautiful woman even at mid age. Personally, I'll take her at that age rather than anything put out there in today's the film industry, young or old alike.

  • @mshayworthfan jane powell in her book said she dislike hedy and she was not very smart

  • Wow!

  • OMG, that's "Mother Stephens" at .55!!!!!! "Frank, I think I'm going to have one of my sick headaches". Mabel Albertson--Franks' talented sister!!!

  • @doctornoooo oh, he was going after different material (I'll let you guess who). Gorgeous hunk of a man.

  • Beautiful scene. Hedy acts with all her heart---its very touching. Great actress--and, of course, great beauty (very rare to have both!!)

  • The most beautiful actress in Hollywood history (fans of Miss Leigh, I'll admit its a squeaker)

  • Every time you folks use your tv remote you are using a device --by proxy--invented by the very talented Hedy. This device was related to the one that she invented that would scrambled radar---the Navy didn't use it in their wisdom--eventually Hedy did get some accolades but little money for her very important invention.

  • @condor628 She could never accept the fact when her career was over and that everybody seemed to have dropped her. Just couldn't handle it and decided to cut herself off from almost everyone.

  • This scene looks alot like a scene from Will Success Spoil Rock Hunter?
