Just a quick tutorial on how to reverse bleed your brakes. Pardon the mess...it's a disaster in my garage right now, but I figured you'd find this helpful if you don't know how this works. I didn't until I read up on it and tried it out. Works GREAT for getting those little air pockets up by the master cylinder punched out.

  • I tried gravity bleeding. On some machines (like mine) an air bubble can get trapped right by the master cylinder. Not sure why other than flawed design maybe? I gravity bled this thing forever with the same end result. Did this and it purged a lot of air that was hangin out right by the master cylinder.

I'd for sure try the gravity bleeding first though, no doubt.

  • That seems like a good idea but you could reverse bleed it using a large animal syringe and force the fluid/air out faster.

  • Good stuff, air travels up, so pushing from the bottom makes sense. There are times where gravity bleed or pump and bleed does not work and you sill get airlocked.

  • @Tallerico500 No problem.

  • @Learnthethingsido Thanks, I will try this today. I haven't thought of doing that yet.

  • @Tallerico500 Just Engage the break as hard as you can open the MAIN LINE where it connects to the Caliper and then close it really quick and tight Keep repaeting that till you get a little fluid that will come out. Then if that dont work Pump the hell out of them and them Engage them HOLD THEM TIGHTLY by squeezing the handle bar or what ever Break lever you have and open it again keep doing that to get all the Air out of the lines. It took me 2 days to figure it out but i got it And you can too

  • @Learnthethingsido ugh. I am jealous. I've been doing this for 6 months with no luck:(

  • @Tallerico500 I got it working LOL. It took a few hours but i got it. Then my break line busted a week later.

  • @Learnthethingsido I'm having the exact same problem with my ATV. I've heard you have too bench bleed the master cylinder if it's new. So I'll try that if this doesn't work.

  • So why not just let gravity pull it down & out the caliper

the traditional way? Works like a charm.
