Second potato cannon I've built, a whole lot bigger than my last one (see my other videos). Interchangeable barrels, shoots a golf ball a 1/2 mile, potato a 1/4 mile... it also can shoot soda bottles and grapefruits...

Next video will be w/ a 2.5 inch barrel for tennis balls and soda cans, along with more destruction shots instead of distance... be sure to come back in a month or so...
Enjoy.

  • through previous testing we figured a ballpark distance... vertical shots gave us rough flight time, simple physics equations give you a ballpark distance possible... our shooting range was just over a 1/4 mile, and it coudl have easily doubled that distance...

  • yeah, the sprinkler solenoid valves vibrate at lower pressures, making the foghorn sound.. a delightful side effect

  • @Triplegack Great idea, I'll have to try that!

  • My cannon is a bit smaller; it has a 10 foot barrel and a single, 10 foot air tank made out of 2" PVC, and It'll still shoot a large-diameter dowel "dart" - which weighs about 1.2 lbs - at about 300 fps with only 60 psi in the tank. That translates to about 1,700 ft-lbs of energy. I can't imagine what yours would do with a similar load. Keep up the good work!

  • if u want to put something in it put a javelin in it that would be mad

  • my cannon shoots 20 oz watter bottles like 1/3 of a mile

  • i have a good tip if you don't already do this: get the paper towel wadding soaking wet, then stuff it down the barrel, if you hear air hissing around it as you push it down then your good. i found this method gets the most veleocity out of your air pressure because the wet paper towel gives it a near perfect seal. try it.

  • Foghorn goes _before_ the shot, not after.

  • the honking sound sounds like the tractors in the movie CARS. Very cool video.

  • @Slavonic707 linkin park

  • optimal dist. is actually 47 degrees when you account for wind resistance

  • vaporizing random shit in 3-2-1 whoooo
