The True Message of the Church.mov

This episode of the weekly devotional video series, Under The Word, is taken from the Lectionary Gospel reading for today -- Mark 4:21-25. This week Pastor Mark attempts to answer the question: What Must The Church Do With the Message Of The Gospel? The text leads us to understand that the true message of the Gospel is that Jesus, the Christ -- the suffering servant of GOD and the great reconciler -- is now, truly, King. Therefore, it is the calling of the church not to hide the Gospel, but instead to follow in these ways of Christ the King, both in this sacrificial service and his ministry of reconciliation to the world. Far from the church triumphant, it must be the church as servant to the brokenhearted, the victim, the poor, and it must be the church as the breathe of harmony in a fracture world at war with itself. The hour is late; the church must get its act together if we are to be a force for good and not troops for continued division.
