Take The "A" Train-Solo Jazz Guitar

I think this is a very good solo arrangement, with guitar parts that segway through representations of key components of a big band, such as the horn punches, piano-esque comping, slippery but solid bass, and some great call and response. Not it's not classically astounding, but Segovia, as much as i love his playing, has yet to blow my lid off with an Ellington tune. This guy is representing an entire big band with his guitar. Try listening bigger.

This is some of the best solo playing I've ever heard, and I've heard a lot. I sincerely hope you get the success you deserve.

i'm gonna learn that watching and listening to you, good exercise! thx from France for the arrangement
I absolutely adore this arrangement, but please, tell me - the lick in the main theme - do you play it with hammer-ons/pull-offs or with finger picking?
Oh, and is there any chance you would do a lesson showing the finger picking technique? I mean when you play non-chord solo, just the fast notes, running over the scales? I simply can't figure out how to play it sounding at least half as good as you. Thanks

If it's the lick I'm thinking of, I play it with a slide and 2 pull-offs. I haven't done any videos for a long time, so I probably won't be doing a lesson thing anytime soon. But thanks for asking!

Amazing..What gear are you using?

The guitar is a Samick Artist Series Edition and the amp is a Mesa Boogie Subway Rocket. I don't think they make either of them anymore. Probably for good reason :-)
