It is definitely 'The head that once was crowned with thorns' to the tune St. Magnus. The hymn 'Christ is made the sure foundation' is most commonly sung to the appropriate tune of 'Westminster Abbey'.

Indeed - St Magnus. Hymn # 447 in The Hymnal 1982. What glorious sounds!

Nor have I ever heard "Christ is Made the Sure Founfation" sung to this tune.
I am an Episcopal Priest, but I COULD be right in agreeing with you, --just this once-- in this matter in spite of that.

Ive never heard Christ is Made the Sure Foundation sung to this tune!

Hymn "The Head that once was crowned with thorns" is the hymn written by Thomas Kelly(1769-1855) from words from Hebrews 2.10 The tune was written by Jeremiah Clarke(1673-1701) and as so rightly put before by others is called St Magnus....now any other arguments??? lol

Now why is that? Two titles for the same hymn?
-
I thought it was 'The head that once was crowned with thorns' do a search and see what you think

The title is Christ is made the sure foundation.
The camera was a little bit hidden, so they could not see that I shoot this video.

Always a delight to hear this magnificent instrument. The music is the tune to the hymn 'The head that once was crowned with thorns' - (St. Magnus) composed by Jeremiah Clarke of Trumpet Voluntary fame.

This was filmed in the afternoon. So I filmed the wrong organ? (always the problem with organs), hmm... but still I love the sound and the atmosphere)
