"Tower of Song", "First We Take Manhattan" and "Closing Time"
I've decided that seeing Leonard Cohen live is one of life's great thrills.
After drooling over the rave reviews I'd read as his tour kicked off in the East Coast I couldn't believe that I would be seeing poet... songwriter... hipster... Canadian icon Leonard Cohen last night.
Then he walks on-stage.
To be in the same room with "The Voice" is something hard to explain. You know he's 73, you know he's been around but when he walks out on that stage... damn.
Sipping my Jack on the rocks in his honour, we listened to the type of songs that hold you hostage:
- Tower of Song (for those of you following along, at this point I was imagining Adam on bass of-course)
- First We Take Manhattan
- Everybody Knows
- I'm Your Man
- Closing Time
... we heard everything we wanted.
One regret is not capturing on film his spoken-word rendition of "A Thousand Kisses Deep", I was just too lost in it.
A nice legend.

I drove 150 miles to catch the Toronto show on the 9th. It was totally worth it! I was about 3 years old last time he toured, so this was my first chance to get to a live show, and it was awesome.
