This motorcycle made by JRL is just awesome. Powered by a radial engine. I haven't seen anything like that ever. Notice how fast it revs up.

Here is another radial engine powered motorcycle. Its made by Jesse James :

Though I respect Jesse James' creations very much, I think the JRL cycle is much more sleek.

  • I've got approx 7,000 hrs of time with a radial on the nose of a machine. In that 7,000 hrs I have witnessed several catostophic failures of a radial.

Don't think I'd want one between my legs......LOL,

    Sweet Bike though

  • love it.

  • @HoGBerG95 Small Tank + BIIIG engine = Short rides (mostly to gas stations.... LOL) I wonder what the mileage on that thing really is. I love getting 50+ MPG on my bike, that thing has to get something in the range of 2. Amazing bike though, Amazing engine. I am sOOOOOOOOOOO jealous!

OK: i never say that the cooling, on a aircraft, isn't good, i know this type of engines: i'm a early aircraft mecanic, work on Wright R3350 18cyl dual cyclone turbo compound (Neptune P2V7 French Navy) and a bit knowledge from the SNECMA/Bristol Hercules 14 cyl sleeve valve engine (Noratlas 2501)... :-)

  • @oiseautempete keep in mind that a radial engine works excellently as an air cooled engine for the following reasons.

1.instead of 4 cylinders trying to create 110 horsepower. Much like the water cooled Rotax or AIR COOLED Jabiru 2200 (which has cooling problems), the R2800 spreads that power over 7 cylinders, not over 4. the engine is capable of producing much more power

2.optimal surface area for air cooling

So with the relatively low air flow on a bike compared to a plane it is not a concern

  • @agav8r802

This engine is the Australian Rotec engine: he's VERY reliable...on a airplane! , but it was never think for installation in a bike, so the cooling isn't correct...

In the past the only bike built in numbers with a "radial" * engine was the German Megola (in 1922)

    * in real the engine from the megola was a rotary direct drive install IN the forward wheel)

  • small tank, BIIIIG enginge :D

  • Ive seen a radial powered bike before this.. Jesse James made on for a guy, he mounted the engine side to side tho. Theres actually a video on jay lenos garage's site of it under motorcycles.. go fig.

  • posing pouch....tiny tank no use whater-so-evar!

  • what cc and horse power

  • SUPER throttle response

  • jay leno has one made by jesse james that looks nicer

this one looks nicer, the radial is pointed forward
