The Crew of SV Rio arrived in Shelter Bay Marina, Colon, Panama. They volunteered to assist a Brit and an Aussie in their journey to the Pacific Ocean.
In order to pass through the Canal, the vessel must be capable of 8 knots speed and have a Captain and 4 line handlers.
They left Saturday April 24, 2010 and passed through the Gatun Locks that evening. They moored overnight and continued their journey on Sunday. This video shows the approach to the Miraflores locks.
Be sure to view the other two videos showing Fancy Free in the locks!
