This video shows what taking the weight off the break does
I bought this filter and valve from Leslies. Its been installed in such a way the outlet you see is lifting 10 feet of pipe filled with water in the air.
Eventually the housing broke and Leslie's is not interested in helping me repair it in the least. They will only schedule a 100$ house call + parts to replace it all at my expense.
If you want something done right, use your neighborhood family owned pool store. Not a nationwide chain that will let anyone willing to install pool equipment for 10$/hr come to your house.
typical Leslies craftmanship! lol... sorry bout your luck

if its a new install, then it wasnt your service tech the mutli port valve came cracked new. or if it was old and just an opening maybe someone didnt winterize it properly and water froze creating a hairline crack in it

Wrap it with duct tape.

Thats not a pump, nor is it fiberglass... Thats a multi port valve, made of plastic. easy to replace.

Leslie's is known in the pool industry as being the biggest ripoff in the business. Please use your owner/operator poolmen and family owned stores.

This is an easy fix. your pump housing is cracked, it happens to fiber glass over time. Just order a new housing and install the old motor, you'll be done in 45 minutes.

Looks like at the worst a bad pump housing. Just buy a new pump and take the motor off the old unit and reinstall. Very simple fix, two hours tops. Owning a pool is like owning a car or anything else that requires maintenance, if you don't know how to fix it, get a manual.

i was a leslie's tech for a while, and found myself forced to jerry rig everything in order to get a quick buck from the customer, which is all they are after. techs are not paid for drive time, expected to maintain company trucks on their own time, ect... so when you do get in a backyard, you have to get every dollar out of every customer to make a living.
