Bing Crosby was my all time favorite crooner. But, damn, it would be hard to beat Perry Como. Sometimes I think he didn't get the best songs to record. That might have put him at a disadvantage beside Bing and Frank Sinatra. Then, again I may be full of baloney!
miss illusionistdave, evidently you don't know the meaning of crooners, otherwise you wouldn't utter the comment you did, for you will never in your life or in anyone's life come across crooners such as perry como and senior francis sinatra who paint the most emotional picture in their phrasing and delivering in their singing interpretations, when i listen to those two guys it's like a great artist just drew me the most minute detailed picture of each word
Wow...he sounds so....happy. That's why I can't listen to crooners. They are happy about their tragedy. I just came across this video after listening to Elvis's version. I'm not trying to hate. I promise.
Eddie Arnold sings as good as Perry Como. I wonder Who recorded this song first.

a really excellent ballad from the ol' days- good voice but not as good as the great Dino CRocetti

Very good version. I would never have known that Cramer was playing the piano on this one.
