@beehaven21 Agreed, they, and we as pool players, need to have the sport become more marketable or mainstream for it to generate mass revenue. I would love to see more pool on TV, or more pros in local halls, or arenas. Let us not forget snooker, how popular that sport is in it's countries, and revenue it generated when alcohol and tobacco advertising was allowed in the UK

They might not know the best way to articulate their intent but they're right for trying.
Too many times these guys get burned by shady promoters, can you believe Mika still hasn't gotten paid for his World 10 ball championship....that was back in November I believe, that's 60m!......I don't know about anyone here but i'm not trying to wait almost a year to get my money...I got bills to pay!!.........Go get EM guys!!

@Stiletos, right!. Today's pool player simply does not have the real know-howe to make this happen. Tho I can't blame them...let's face it...these pros are after the money, NOT truly promoting the sport. Latter must take precedence if these guys want money to follow. Had this happened years ago...the "paychecks" would be much closer. Poor Johnny... not a good spokesperson. Need someone w/more business-speak, cuz pros want to play -not run an LLC.

44 minutes of nothing more then theoretical musings and nonsense. No business plan, no marketing strategies, a spokesman that does not know what the acronym stands for. A group of guys planning to phone promotors and demand the money is in escroe or they will boycott. Groundbreaking...

iT WONT MAKE ANY DIFFERENCE, JOHNNY. A NOBLE EFFORT HOWEVER.

@burky417 Do you REALLY think that pool promoters make a lot from TV sponsors today? I'd like to see some proof of that. Please back up that statement.

I like this idea. I hope that they have learned from the past and truly stick to their guns and boycott the events which do not have guaranteed monies in escrow.

We are behind the players in this endeavor. To many times they have been burned. Here and in the overseas tournaments. Good luck guys I hope this is long lived. Stay together in your cause because division from within is always the downfall.

These guys are so talented and it's a shame to see them scuffling. Good for them. Get some respect. Now go and win some of the majors!

Good plan. Certainly look at the PGA as an example. I find it ridiculous that professional players are paying entry fees to join a tournament. I can see armatures paying entry fees for an open but not pros. Promoters make a lot from TV sponsors these days.
