Food for me is as much about the eating as it is the making and chatting about. This recipe will create much love for you... it is impossibly delightful. Sinfully rich... simple to make... but also worthy of any dinner party. Should you need to make the whole thing in an even faster minute, certainly you can create more shortcuts with a still luscious and similar effect! What I adore in a good recipe is the option for substitutions. Clearly this lovely can manage changes quite nimbly... use whatever fresh berries you can find, or juicy peaches... soft is good here. Should you have day old cake, use it instead... Don't want to make the pudding? Just go with the whipped cream, or vice versa. You get where I'm going here... I must know, what's your twist on an old English favorite?

Congratulations that is the closest I have seen any American get to making a TRUE English Trifle. Being an Old School Englishman, the only thing I would change would be to substitute Cream Sherry for the Quantreau, Strawberry Jam for the Apricot, add Strawberry Jelly (Jello) and use Birds Custard mix for the "pudding". Other than that you got it almost perfect. However since most everybody has their own recipe for Trifle this one is as good as any other. Once again CONGRATULATIONS
