A World without Religion

Imagine a world without religion, what would be our goals? what would we do without it being in the name of God?

The point is that believing in something that does not exist does more harm than good. It promotes ignorance, no REAL accountability, and slows down society's growth into more complex organization models. Science, health, money (wealth), and laws are all effected by religion.  Please don't post anything unless you have done the research based on scientific facts. NOT hear say or stories written by people who thought the earth was flat!

As for being cryptic with the post before the previous post, with nation, I more or less meant state in the sense of sovreign entity, not in the sense of state as an institution per-se.

so rather I meant the people and institutions of otherwise politically and possibly economically independent entities.

However I would agree that a major barrier to cooperation is in-fact religious beliefs that seam to devide humanity.

I don't think mearly atheism would help alone, obviously it would require mass cooperation between nations who otherwise wouldn't have reason to cooperate or a common government.[getting nations to cooperate on such projects is probably the most productive for peace]

@jakatak1134 Yes, like i said we are scarred, because of ancient religion our cultures have been vastly seperated, but some countrys in europe are up to 85% atheist, we are getting there. But some of the conservative jesus freaks in america are scaring me..

@InvisibleSpaceMaster but even before disproving religion i feel like it'd just be amazing to have a society who's mindset in all situations would be to attain more knowledge. then situations like arguments where it's one belief vs. another for the sake of competition/standing up for your belief, would change to factual comparisons for the sake of self-education or educating the other party. However, while the past can not be changed, i still find hope in the Venus Project
