Denshimail for 2009/03/23.

This week we talk about why the Famicom Disk System is able to use six AA batteries, and whether or not the battery tray is a viable solution for your gaming needs. Also — an "experiment".

  • I believe I heard that season 2 was to start in 2009, what happened?

  • It started with the first Denshimail (the one right before this one). But I know people want to see regular episodes. We released a special, and the next episode is coming up soon!

  • Just for the record, the batteries would usually last about five months on the Famicom Disk System. A whole lot longer than two hours.

  • Wow, that's 3600 hours! TAKE THAT, iPhone!

    Thanks for the tip.

  • Was that a black disk system that Vinnk was using? Or was it just the lighting in his room...?

  • Just the lighting.

  • @SeanOrange Have mine running since three years with the same batteries (no leakage yet).

  • f1 race was my first famicom game

  • So you can just put the disk in, switch the sides, and then just take it out entirely and play normally?

    Pretty neat.

  • ok. thanks
