  • I just bought a new iphone 3G (last Friday) and now I'm hearing roumers about a new iphone around June. The store I bought the phone from say they have heard nothing but I DO have a 14 day waver clause which is up this coming Friday. I am tempted to use it and wait. What do you think? Otherwise I could be stuck with an out-dated phone for 18 months.

  • Those of us who bought the first iPhone weren't stuck with it. I upgraded mine. My contract was extended, but no more than it would have been if I just bought the second iPhone to begin with. Not sure how they will work it next time, but they will definitely want to encourage people to spend more money and upgrade, so I'm sure there will be a way to do it.

  • A lot of Apple Rumors come from people with too much time on Photoshop.

  • I guess I should have made up a 7th category: completely fabricated by someone for fun.

  • was the new macmini video an insider leek

  • But if you are talking about the MacBook mini (not the Mac mini video from a month ago) then it is most likely someone's fantasy creation, and not a valid rumor at all.

  • whats pay as you go?

  • Yes but it can be an expensive option in the long run.Later data costs kick in heavily and I have heard that some iphone features are not available. I am happy with a contract but I wish they would let you upgrade. I spoke with O2 and they will not within the 18 month limit.

  • then you can pay £10 a month for unlimited data plan.

  • You get free data for a YEAR on PAYG

  • I know...I live there. But the costs for an iphone on PAYG are prohibitive because you pay for all data and internet use big time. A contract makes more sense with phones like the iphone which make great use of online facilities, push etc.

  • I think that's what I will do. Thanks.

  • i would definately wait...its only 3 more months and you get brand new hardware. And if you don't like it you can always just get the 3g again

  • In the Uk we have Pay As You Go

  • Thanks. I'm not sure how it will work in theUK. It's been ages since I've had a contract phone and I've never used O2 before. I hope that you're right about upgrading though. I'd be happy to pay the extra when the tije canme to upgrade.
