ecolab1: you've somewhat missed the point here. This is not some publicity stunt from Coca-Cola, this is an independent NGO which aims to help people. Coca-Cola has its many flaws (like so many multi-national companies), but it's not going to go away. However, ideas which use Coca-Cola for good are surely to be applauded. I for one think it's genius.
Coke is implicated with multiple cases of environment scandals in the third world and is expanding its market into spaces where people need water - not pop. Coke's attempt to clean up its image by using its vast distribution networks (that only exist because they are selling sugar water to the poor) to distribute medicine is does not undo the damage it does by peddling pop and depleting natural water reserves in the southern hemisphere.
