  • This is a trick question, but can you use some diminished tricks in Hendrix's Woodstock version of Villanova Junction? I just saw it for the first time and saw a lot of shapes and grips that don't seem like your normal boxy pentatonics. It would be nice to know what he's doing and why it works because it is one gentle and tasty piece of music!

  • Turn up the treble if you please. Your tone has always been good but, in my opinion, it needs a more complex overtone series. And the Z Wreck will give it to you if you give it a little more leeway to add to the tone. Just my opinion, I hope that doesn't offend you. You have such great skill and great gear that when the tone isn't what it seems like it would be, it's just obvious to me.

  • @TheJohan9595 I think he has talked about it before but maybe not a whole video. One of the things I remember him talking about was "leave empty space: don't feel like you have to be playing at all time" and "be conscious of going fast and slow. Get faster, then slow back down, keep it changing"

  • Thanks

  • It feels like you just showed me one of the secrets of Jazz from this video
