@ByTheShortAndCurlies I don't believe I ever claimed that non Muslims could enter Mecca. I don't see what that has to do with the ground zero mosque. Bottom line, our constitution guarantees freedom of religion. There is nothing moral or legal about restricting someone's right to worship peacefully.

Actually no non-muslim can enter the city of Mecca let alone the Ka'aba (Mecca & Medinah). Whilst anybody of any faith can enter the city of Jerusalem and visit the Temple Mount. In the "Palestinian" sector Jews are forbidden. In addition the Temple hasn't be rebuilt therefore the rule doesn't apply. Last quick point mainstream Judaism like Christianity has reformed to the point that Islam hasn't. They still have Sharia based law in many muslim countries.

I am merely supporting the freedom of religion. That is all. If this mosque was not built, would all the people who would go there automatically stop being Muslim? No. It would do nothing except infringe on the right of the people to practice their religion as they please.

I think it is crazy that other atheists are supporting another mosque being built. It is not about "all muslims are terrorists" it is about the supporting of another religious institution being built. If you look at it that way, are you still glad it is being built?
