To contact me, email at allinaday@aol.com. When a fire destroyed my things, I began to video my feelings without knowing why. The brilliant filmmaker John Vincent Barrett, took what I had and made this movie. Colleagues are suggesting John and I create a business to make legacy films like this one for others who want to leave something of meaning to those that follow them. If you are interested to know more, please contact me at allinaday@aol.com

  • David, thank you for sharing your story with us. I wanted you to know this video is being shared with the Bastrop Fire Group on Facebook. The largest fire in the history of Texas happened in Bastrop County September 2011. Last count 1600 homes and business were destroyed and many acres of the Lost Pines of Texas. At one point the fire was 20 miles by 20 miles large. My daughter's family lost their home and everything in that fire. I too have shared your story on FB. Peace Love StardoveMoon

  • @stardovemoon - I am so happy that you are sharing my film with your group. i believe that some fire victims will be helped by watching it. Please tell the group that they can communicate with me at allinaday@aol.com.

    Best regards

  • this is a wonderful piece of work. i am recommending it to all my friends!

  • @therealsunriseruby thank you so much. I am eager to build an audience to prove to film festivals, and television, and possibly two other individuals who would like to use John and myself to make their legacy film, that this film has as they say in the film business, legs. Your support helps.

  • David, Dear David, What a fabulous film. It seems mistakes, the unexpected or tragedy is often the precursor to greatness and creativity. The fire, tragic as it was, has spawned a movie that is touching, instructional about life and informative about you and your work. Your humanity shines, your legacy is assurred.

  • I've watched this twice now.The look in your eyes when you were standing in the fire just absolutely hurt my heart - then the spark in your eyes when you decided to make something positive out of it all - Amazingly inspiring.

I think the burned photographs have something extraordinary added too. ;)

  • Before I found this video I watched some of the videos of your work from the distant past and recent past, so I feel like I know you a bit. That makes it harder to watch this documentary. Your loss will serve as an inspiration to me as I begin a new career in visual storytelling. I'm just sorry that it will be at your expense, David. I'll watch for your work in the future.

  • Truely touching story..your story. Gave me goosebumps, and brought tears. You are a beautiful soul! Prior to watching this, I watched the movie of u and family in France. ( I had no clue u were a professional filmmaker, till I watched this one) It was quite obvious that u are a remarkable father, and your boys will have deep, warm, wonderful memories of you. I look forward to watching more of your films.

  • I am truly inspired by you David. You are a man with a true heart for the unsung heros of America. When everyone thought it was all over at the cross when Jesus was crucified, they were wrong, He lives in our hearts, and your work, and your heart, will never die, but live forever. thank you for sharing this part of your life with us all. You are a gentleman, and a scholar, and may God's peace always guide your heart, and kepp you and your family well. Your father was a great man & artist.

  • i like it...archaeologists of memories

  • Thank you for this poignant, marvellously paced film. To transmute an elegy into an inspiring legacy requires courage, wisdom and a big heart - no wonder you had so many friends to help you raise a phoenix from the ashes.

  • Thanks David, you gave me a lot of ideas.I hope you let this pass. As our mind struggles to understand this life , we realize the only thing we really have is this fact: the present...Ik
