@impulsive2urge, the mouthpiece is obviously from a saxophone. The noise is made, but it doesn't work like a kazoo-you can't hum into it and change the pitch. So the carrot and potato/celery whistles work.

@impulsive2urge actually it's just the mouthpiece to a woodwind instrument. It makes the noise, but does not change the pitch. So the carrot actually a majority of the instrument.
