Your Daily Politics Video Blog: Gerry Ferraro is catching a lot of flak these days. But here at TPM we want to thank her. It's been an exhausting primary season. And we've needed some comic relief in a big way. Saying Barack Obama was lucky to be black may only have been one more 'unfortunate' statement in a string of beauts this election cycle. Compliments?come on Ferraro. Statics dont lie. It is a statistical fact that a black has to do 3 times more work to get to the same position as a white man. If anything,Hillary is benefiting for being white. And thats the reason why through out this campaign she has tried to point out the race different between herself and Obama. ...for example, white people are welcome in black churches, but if there was a 'white' church, then blacks would be prohibited from attending that church. That's how racism worked. Obama does not have that problem, for one he was raised by his single white mother. You don't have to support Obama to get this, it's just the way things were done.I agree that black people should move on as well and stop the labelling (i hate BET btw!)Like i said i'm sure you mean well, just know the facts.

I'm black and i have to tell you that i agree with you. I don't think that black people should label anything black, it makes ME uncomfortable.You're probably young and i believe that you have the best of intentions with your comment (i'm young too, 20s), but i wanted to point out that the difference between labeling things black/white is that when something is labelled white, blacks are considerer not too good for it(inferior), black label however only means a different culture.

What I see is a lot of labeling from the blacks and no one gives it a second thought.

Black Churches, Black Entertainment Televison, Ebony Magazine, Miss Black America Pageant, etc... Yet when a white person uses the word white they are quickly branded a racist. Since when did blacks get away with doing that shyt? They need to be stopped from labeling as well. Just substitute black with the word white and ask yourself..how does that sound...then ask yourself who would raise hell because of it.
