A watershed can be thought of as a geographical area that drains into a single river system, and a river basin as the river itself and all its tributaries. Hence, watershed management is more concerned with how water affects the land on its way to a body of water. This video shows images of watershed management and describes the lessons and best practices from World Bank's water project in Morocco. Based on the findings of IEG's study on "Water and Development: Evaluation of World Bank's Support, 1997-2007" the video illustrates what IEG ratings show that watershed management projects that take a livelihood focused approach perform better than those that do not.
