This is me playing Don Ross' great tune "Any Colour But Blue" in the Parking Garage of Laughlin Guitars.
Usually I only play this tune if my friend Chris (a phenomenal saxophonist) is around to play it with me. I was travelling when this was recorded, so that sadly wasn't possible.
If you'd like to see the duet version, that's up on Youtube as well. Check that version out too!

A little bit of clipping going on here in the Audio. Otherwise I'm very happy with this take. Enjoy!

Michi, you are the best. <3

  • Man, I love this way more than Don's version... your voice is nothing short of phenomenal. I really wish I could sing like you! Hell, I wish I could play like you too.

What kind of guitar is that by the way? It's gorgeous. I can't wait to hear that Beneteau baritone too!

    Aww, Jeez, thanks Rael!

The guitar is a Laughlin, made by Bob Laughlin out of Vancouver. They're pretty reasonably priced for a handmade acoustic, and they're great guitars! The Video is actually recorded in the parking garage of Bob's building.

Hey, you wanted a tutorial of this tune, right?

  • mr. ross would be proud. i'm sure.

  • Best version yet. (I am super thrilled that you learned this one. Can't imagine life without it. ;) )

(Smiley faces look awkward in brackets.)

  • Wow, I just checked out the Laughlin site and I'm shocked at the price. I've been wanting to save up for a handmade acoustic, so I'm glad I found this now!

And yeah, I'm surprised you remember me asking! I only asked because you stated somewhere that you were willing to make one, haha. I know a lot of work goes into a tutorial/tabs so I would totally understand if you wouldn't want to. I just always feel like I'm missing something when I try to figure stuff out by ear ;)

    can't wait for more!

  • Oh, man~ So so so so damn great. I really like your voice and the natual reverb in garage.

  • .... You have an awesome singing voice, too? God damn!
