Great song but lousy cinematography of Texas, it's a beautiful state, but you'd never know it from their clips.

@mtz313 They re-recorded the theme every year... or at least most years. It was a way of producers to keep things fresh on a series.

Dallas and Hawaii-Five-0 (just to name two) recorded new themes for each season. They were all similar but subtly different. Listen to the different versions carefully and you'll see. For HF-0 the most obvious differences are in the opening 5 seconds--the opening drums were different each season. With Dallas as well, each seasons theme is slightly different.

don't know about that... socialism is still alive in most of europe (free healthcare), and COMMUNISM started to wobble when the Russians invaded Afghanistan in 1979, and entered an arms race. Not sure watching TV ever changed the world that much!
