Just after we accelerated out of Chengalpattu Jn., the train took a massive curve to the right. Note the pleasant YAM1 horn towards the end of the video.

  • Good to see this MG train I was about 10 or 11 when this video was shot my house was near mambalam station in chennai i use to sit in corrido and watch all the trains pass by . it reminding me of old days.

  • @pulsar150greay I am sure you must be missing the MG electrics a lot, as well as the MG crack trains such as Vaigai and Pandian. I miss them a lot!

  • @vb642 yes ofcourse becoz it was golden period, i used to think where these trains are going, even i dont know their destination but it was nice , iam proud to say i travlled in the last day of MG train from tambaram to kodambakkam , lot of people from various areas who used that MG service gave a tearful frewell iwas among them.

  • @pulsar150greay I think the South MG rakes were one of the cleanest in the entire country. You could literally sleep on the floor after dusting it off. Alas, MG is no more in that section :-( :-(

  • Glad I was able to evoke some memories for you! In Dec. 2007, I traveled from Egmore to Nagercoil and saw the disused MG line - felt so sad.
