Mount Carmel Health System has announced plans to expand its healthcare services in Grove City to meet the increasing healthcare needs of the growing population in southwest Franklin County and surrounding communities. Mount Carmel is in contract with Mid-America Racing Association, Inc., to purchase 112 acres to develop its healthcare services at the site of the former Grovebrook Golf Club at Interstate 71 and State Route 665.
While the complete mix of medical services and amenities to be offered at the site is still to be determined, it will be anchored by a freestanding emergency care center like Diley Ridge Medical Center in Canal Winchester. Mount Carmel is the majority owner of that joint-ventured facility with Fairfield Medical Center. The planned Grove City freestanding emergency care center, which is expected to open sometime during Winter 2012-13, will be wholly owned by Mount Carmel.
