They were a great band, almost married the drummer....they were from Northlake. The women weren't in the band later, it was just Ralph, Pete, John and Willie......

Not complaining, because they did a great job on this cover.....HOWEVER, Mainstream boss Bob Shad, stole the idea and composition from the Concern's lable mates, The Jelly Bean Bandits, who had presented it to Shad as part of their now famous "three track demo".....
and ask me how I know..........!!
Never the less, They did a fantastic job on the tune that will stand up to anything in today's market....

This version blows away The Hollies' version, with all due respect; a la Hendrix nailing his own version of "...Watchtower".
This song would be a great mix tape/CD opener for a 1968 mix. Great song!

I have this on the original vinyl and it has the fattest sound you could ever imagine, and I agree with Mr Scrot, this version is the definitive version :)
