The Bats played a one-off show in Dunedin in November 2009 with some special guests to celebrate the release of their album "The Guilty Office" earlier this year. The venue was Sammys, which is an famous Dunedin venue where most of the great NZ bands (and many overseas ones too) have played. Joining The Bats were two former fellow Flying Nun records bands, David Kilgour & the Heavy Eights and The Puddle and newcomers Haunted Love (who provided the backing vocals for the most recent Clean album "Mister Pop"). The show was recorded and filmed for a "virtual show" highlights download, and just maybe, a DVD. This short video is made up from some of my lo-fi camera footage from the day. Multi-camera HD footage to come in the "virtual show" sometime. You can read more about the show here: http://fishriderrecords.wordpress.com/2009/10/24/the-bats-very-special-guests...
This is a great video of the soundcheck and set/up. Captures the feel of the day really well. I want more like this.
