do you have to use rice paper?

@MsPinklover1997 No, you don't have to use rice paper. You can use napkins to paint on. I am just kidding.:-) Yes, I use absorbent paper such as Xuan rice paper or mulberry paper only for this kind of painting, known as sumi-e(ink painting) or Chinese brush painting.

omg :o this is awesome, i want to learn but i keep failing so badly! im super talented using pencil but to do what ur doing is hard, how long did it take u ?
note: i learn by myself and through utube l)
