My teacher learned muay thai, karate, boxing, and some other arts. He learned muay thai from a Laos who had a school in Thailand I think. The defense he taught me looks very close to this. I have never seen defense like this in sport muay thai. I learned muay thai from him and it resembles alot like chaiya. This defense is very solid. And the way I was taught the roundhouse kick looks a little different from traditional muay thai. He emphasize power, defense, distance and timing, and then speed.

The commentator/narrator seems to have some voice issue going on... its sometimes hard understanding him because he seems all out of breath ^^

It's close to a few Occidental Arts--but the amount of time before you use it is very different in the Occidental World.
