I do love a good demolition!

For anyone who's driven down the Birchfield Road (A34) from Birmingham City Centre towards Handsworth this is Calder Tower - one of three that overlook the flyover. Soon they will all be gone!

  • Used to think the folk who lived here were posh!

  • As a bona fide Perry Barrican I am delighted the towers are coming down.

It took my breath away when I saw Calder being demolished. The last I heard Urban Splash were going to save the dirt stained Gate Way to Perry Barr. The Credit Crunch has a silver lining after all

I used to run up and down the stairs as a game in my youth, dodging drug addicts and falling in piss as I went, and even saw a jumper off one of the towers in the 80s.

  • S'not Soho I wouldn't think, Perry Barr, Birchfield (or overarchingly Aston) perhaps
