Interviews by Katya Nasim.
-----------------------------------------

Protest - 21st October outside Parliament
5.30pm onwards, Old Palace Yard, outside Parliament, St Stephen's entrance
For a womans right to choose

Make the strength of pro-choice opinion felt ahead of the final crucial abortion votes in Parliament. Oppose further anti-abortion attempts to drive back women's fundamental rights and support the first Parliamentary opportunity in a generation to improve the law for women and extend rights to Northern Ireland.

  • there should be more abortions and not less!!

  • @KatieMc174 Northern Ireland has a slight Protestant majority (Presbyterians). Some of these are fundamental Christians and this has helped to keep abortion very restricted in Northern Ireland. The Catholic Church there would also have had some influence too. You're thinking of the Republic of Ireland, which has a huge Catholic majority.

  • @SinnFein4ever If I were raped, I wouldn't murder my baby that I was expecting. It was never the baby's fault, who is another and separate human being. But Sinn Fein knows a lot about murder anyway! LOL (And I'm a nationalist but hate IRA scum).

  • white women dont like having babies the future is black

  • The right to abortion isn't a simple 'rights issue', just like gay rights etc, because in the case of abortion, TWO people's rights are at issue - those of the mother and those of the yet unborn child.

  • Northern Ireland has a protestant majority.

Your comment was incorrect and pointless.

  • Ireland is supposed to be the original resource of Catholosism, this is bullshit that the original source is going against the rules it set

  • I'm with you.

I'm also Irish, and was raised in a Catholic family.

I used to be anti-abortion rights like my parents, until one day I sat down and honestly asked myself what I would do if I was raped and became pregnant.

I knew emmediatly that I would get the RU-487 pill as soon as I knew that I was pregnant, and just purge the parasite from my system like urine.

At that stage, it's smaller than the period at the end of this sentence.

  • Abortion is not murder, I'm of Irish decent and Christened catholic however my views are more agnostic. I believe abortion is a termination of pregnancy not murder.

  • I think this is good idea, I'm so glad I live in England where its legal because if I ever had to make such a decision I would want the freedom to do so.
