Could you tell us when your cabinet was made? Is it oak or mahogany?

@learntocrochet1 The machine that came in this cabinet is a 1917 Singer 66K that from what I can tell was original to the cabinet, so both should be the same age. It is oak and is what Singer called in their "Mission Style" cabinet.

Your video is GREAT!
My Wife is wanting a Cabinet like this one...so badly !
The only thing that I wish your video would show is what the operation is to 'Lower' the Sewing Head back down into the cabinet. Your hand goes back into the Treadle-Side of things...the film just didn't catch it.

Yes, I didn't show that very well. All you do to lower the machine head back down inside the cabinet is give it a good firm push down. There is nothing to push or turn to do that...just a good firm push down. Might be a little tough for a short light-weight person to do...lol.

@wheatina1 Bless you and thank you. I have exactly the same machine and cabinet as yours! And I thought it was stuck or broken because I couldnt for the life of me get the head to go back into the cabinet. The button made it go up but would not make it go down. But your wonderful video showed me the error of my ways - no need for the button to go back down - just a small push!!!!!!!! And WHOOPEE! Do you still have your parlor cabinet?

All you have to do is push down firmly on the machine head to get it to drop down into the cabinet. You don't even need to push the button. Glad you found the video helpful !! Enjoy you machine and cabinet!! YES, I still have mine and actually have a total of 5 drawing-room/parlor cabinets!! LOVE THEM ALL!!
