There's the shimmer of asbestos in the air
The glow of rusting metal causing me to stare
When I pass it by it brings tears to my eyes
The beauty of the world being piled sky high

They say one man's trash is another man's treasure
But this is one gift we'll get to keep forever
It's not going away
Our legacy is here to stay
Our kids will glow with pride and radiation yeah

And darling
Oh landfill
I hope you reach the sky
And you'll be around even after we die

Even when we're apart and I'm back at my place
A water sip reminds me of your chemical trace
But they just let me know that you're getting enclosed
At least I'm now assured that you'll never decompose

And darling
Oh my landfill
I can tell that you agree
Cause as I consume baby you're consuming me

And as you grow baby
So does my love for you
Want to take all your parts and eat you up in a stew
That's just a little taste of the freaky that we'll do
It's no one's business what goes down when it's just us two

And when there's no more room
To store all of this waste
It's no problem
We'll send it to less fortunate states
Of you I won't think less
I know you did your best
But let some other country
Deal with all the rest

And baby
Oh my landfill
Thank God you'll be here forever
Through war
Through fallout
Through the warming weather

This song was dedicated to all those who made our landfill possible
Keep on consuming
Keep on disposing
Never stop

  • hmmm. did you know that if you were to look at a map of america, all the landfills on earth could fit on a spot less than the size of a pencile dot?

  • This video is as much about over-consumption as it is about landfills. And that statistic doesn't remove the fact that the average Canadian creates 500 kg of waste a year.

  • and? should we all go live in caves? you might think it is wrong for us to produce all this waste, but this is just a byproduc of advancing technology. i think ill take my 500k and 80 year life span, over 0k and a 20 year life span.

  • Part of a succesful global community means to be sustainable with the world we live on. Not just for ourselves, but for future generations, so they can inherit an earth that has not been depleted only to advance our desire for comsumption.

  • Not to mention that the areal extent of landfills is only a small part of the story. We really need to be concerned with the contamination of air, soil and water caused by landfills which spreads their impact far beyond the initial footprint, and their serious emission of greenhouse gases, caused by methane formation. This throw-away way of life with its unnecessary production and consumption has no future whether you like it or not! And the average American produces 700 kg of garbage per year!

  • In this LAND of waste of litter

you guys FILL my heart with hope for the future

  • THANK GOD!!!!!

  • omg! wtf! pmsl! walos!

  • I think you all should create a song about the methane dangers of Human's passing gas as a result of eating beans. That would be about as relevant as this video.

  • Most excellent! And yeah, we do have stuff like this in reality!

Check out the music video "Somewhere over the (Casella Waste Systems) Landfill" It's about the Casella Waste Systems landfill in a little town of 2,500 people-- Bethlehem, NH. 40% of the trash dumped there comes from out of state. It's polluting our air, our river, our national forest and causing cancer clusters. And people insist there is no such thing as progress!

  • Wow we don't have stuff like this in reality, that was crazy.

  • this song helped me fight cancer
