Dodge Dakota V8

Got me a new toy at the auction last week. It's a 1993 Dodge Dakota 4x4 with the Magnum 318 V8 (5.2L). It needed a good tuneup. I replaced the plugs, wires, cap, rotor, PCV valve, air filter and fuel filter. Now it screams like a Magnum V8 should. Truck still needs a few things like a windshield and new exhaust, but still not a bad deal for only $900.

i got my 91 for $1000. best truck ever. now i just need a new paint job. did u know a Dakota has bigger cylinders than a 2000's dodge ram?

Piston size is determined by the size of the engine. A 5.2L is a 5.2L, no matter what truck it's in. Same engine

One thing that irritates the heck out of me is the ridiculous price that everyone wants for the Y-pipe. Cheapest I could find was almost $300. I can get a set of true duals complete with tips for only $100 more... just stupid.

That V8 sure sounds good when you get on it, got to love those V8s in that size of truck. I have a 96 Dakota with the 5.2L V8 318 with original exhaust.

It's just ridiculous how fast this truck is. Yeah it has a hole in the muffler and needs a whole new exhaust, but still sounds really good. For some reason Dodge V8's just have a really sweet sounding exhaust note.

@bigchevy80 well if u want tru duals go to lowes and buy fence postings then have them bent to ur way u want them find some one with a bender give them like 20 bucks then find a weilder pay him 20 bucks so to fix it up with out mufflers or cats it will be 40$ for tube and conectors 40$ for some one wielding and bending exaust flange is 3 bucks this is how i did mine with no cat or muffler tr8 pipe that bends out at the tires with posts their thicker wont rust as quik

I got my 1991 318 v8 2wd for $600. But the thing I love about it is all my friends thought that it was going to be a crap, but runs great even with 263,000 miles on it! And the acceleration is crazy!

Well actually you can get a dakota with a 4.7.Also you can get the ram with the optional HEMI 5.7 engine,and the 4.7.
