Wicked Australia - 1st Anniversary Celebrations - June 21, 2009

To celebrate the one-year birthday of Wicked in Australia, a party was held at the Regent Theatre in Melbourne on Sunday the 21st of June. The first 365 people to arrive in costume were given a free ticket to a performance later in the week, and the day was topped with special prizes, trivia contests and a sing-along. One lucky person was also given the opportunity to go backstage and be "Elphaba-fied" by the official make-up artist. It was a great day!

This is just a brief mix of all the day's events for those who could not be there in person. Enjoy!

heey thanks heaps for posting this vid, wish i could of been there but i had to go to a im portant dancing rehearsal (grr) so i couldnt go lol.. i was just wondering who was the elphaba, was it patrice?? it doesnt look like amanda..

amanda took some time off due to voice probelms, she was struggling with her voice and the capacity of the role as elphaba, what with one hour of just her singing, and with such strain too...makes sense. She will be back as elphaba in march 2010 but until then jemma rix is lead elphaba and pippa grandison is standby. jemma is fantastic! absolutely love her and pippa is cute too.
