PARIS HILTON AND YOUTUBE POLITICS

I guess I'm getting into youtube politics. Is this really what I want to do?

Many of you watching this are probably familiar with me from the Healing Network, but if this is the first time you've seen me, I have a comedy show under the username "healingnetwork"

Since YouTube has become so important to so many people I feel it's important to discuss some of the things that effect the YouTube community.

This video mostly is discussing YouTube in general. The Paris Hilton video is just an example of the particular issue I'm addressing, which is the increase in advertising on YouTube.

For those of you who missed it, a Paris Hilton music video was featured on the home page of YouTube recently in the area where they seem to be accepting paid video advertising.

I am hoping my thoughts here will open healthy discussion on this issue.

I can't see them putting Paris or any other advertisement as a lead in to every video. They would surely see a huge drop off in viewing and probably lose a lot of YouTube talent. Would you quit YouTube in protest if they did this?

NolaTom: I don't think they will. I don't know if I would quit in protest, but I would definitely quit in frustration. I wouldn't be able to deal with watching ads. I stopped watching tv altogether for this reason.

Paperlilies: I love how people from all over the world get together and discuss common themes here.  And yes, that would suck hard if they did that, but I'm sure they know that they would completely be shooting themselves in the neck if they take that approach to advertising. Keep up the good stuff. :)

While i agree with you about payed advertising, Youtube definately is not the worst.. But like you i have left websites because of the advertising that bombards your vision..

Look man YOUTUBE IS FREE!!! How can you complain about something that is free??? Who the hell complains about something that is free??? Only you but I guess that's what makes you you. I think what you are trying to say is you want it to be completely free without any type of interruptions?
