@lederniercri There wasn't science, Only the holy roman church. They needed to keep people dumb and branding science as the work of the devil was one of their last stands against enlightenment of the common man and later woman. Needless to say they failed.

@lederniercri It was Heresy against the "holy Roman Church" to even speak thoughts like thatuntil a few hundred years ago.Galileo didn't publish his findings because he would have been executed. Before that when science was still a toddler, It was accepted as fact that Earth was flat and the sun revolved around us because we were at the center on the universe! If you get your facts from wikipedia you are being filled with loads of bullshit. I hope find and issue of Nat Geo soon!

never ever in the history of science anyone seriously thought the world was flat. it still is one of the greatest myths of our time. people always knew that the earth is spherical. take a look at the wikipedia article 'myth of the flat earth'

When she says that if we left it up to science the world would be flat....I think she is referring to when science used to think the world was flat....and at that point that was it's truth....Until we found out more...We "caught up". So what other concepts does science tout as 'truth" or 'proven" but that we will find out more later... and again we will catch up.....
