I have a feeling this has a traditional route to it. I remember trying to learn it off a Ralph McTell album, and being frustrated by his pure brilliance and talent. You might have guessed I still am. He is one of my all time heros, although, like everything you have to be in to the same soft of stuff to respond to his magic, his songwriting and talented playing. I just like the idea of working with your hands that make the head clever, especially in a religous sense. There is real magic in watching a crafts person work with natural materials, whether its clay, wood, stone, metal or cloth. Hands make the head clever indeed.
Great stuff - thanks, Mike. ;-))
I like the way you have your very own interpretation.
Love that song - always cheers me up straight away.
Are you tuned to dropped-D in your version ?
Ehm, what happened to the awesome Joseph Spence instrumental "Great Dreams of Heaven" / "There will be a happy meeting" there ? *LOL*
