Nice! Great timing and solidity in all of yours' techniques!
-
what the fuckin noise are they doing??!! sounds like they were shitting o tryin to shit o.O
-
some of these bunkais are slightly unrealistic i do agree, but theres nothing to set bunkai in stone, many moves have many meanings
-
@ccthedragon the kata can only teach the principles of the self defence, the martial artist must bend those principles in order to be effective in a self defence situation, kata is very important
-
I'm learning this kata for a comp for team kata, if i can do half as good as this i'll be happy, good job Oss!
-
taekwondo has better style
-
nothing for real fight..no kyusho,no tuite..looks like bunkai for brown belt..that bunkai can make somone with green belt..wery poor like for black belt..
-
not bad..... bunkai is pretty good :)
only, I didnt see any hips rotation (e.g. when you block, your hips are still 'closed', instead 'open')... although, this may be coz of style (Im training Fudokan karate)...
@whezzy1965, that "hum hum" as you call it is called KIME and it represents the air from your lungs when you contract your muscles while kicking/punching/blocking :P
-
wow i was actually clapping in my chair and i wasn't even at the tournament! 5/5
@whezzy1965 they are probabley better than you so shut up

I don't think I've seen this kata performed so in synch. Brillilant
well, technically these gyus are very skillfull karatekas. bunkai like this are fun to train, but its has very little to do with realistic self defense. in order to perform , uke has to be very co-operative, which the opponent normally is not. those throws and jumps look ridicilous for any experienced martail artist, but as such are fun to watch. Osu !

well, that's competition, not real life...
anyway, kata itself usually is not realistic at all.

ruined by the silly grunting noises.the bunkai was unrealistic and not really related to the kata.rubbish.but thats my opinion.

Well, dependent the type of tournament you perform in, realism is more or less an issue. This was Golden League - Austrian Open, which -at the time- demanded a degree of 'show elements' to be integrated. This bunkai here is heavily compressed, as well... And, honestly, I'm getting tired of guys criticising the way I do my kime, just because they are used to do it differently. What could be more insignificant than the volume of sound of my breath? If i do techniques incorrectly, criticise them!

What's with the funny little muttering noises made after each technique?!? In Japan, that would be "minus point" at each time!!!
JLOLONDON 4 years ago
well, then it is obvious this cannot be in japan, right ;)
