Today on this 2007 Buick Rendezvous we are going to install part number 87004 from Hidden Hitch. This will also apply to part number 75430 from Draw-Tite. First off we will show you where the hitch mounts up to the frame of the vehicle. It is going to use these two existing holes at the bottom of the frame and there are going to be two holes that we need to drill in this pinch weld right here also. We will use the hitch as a template to hold everything together while we drill. We can get right to installing the hardware into the vehicle. We are going to be using this three inch long block and this carriage bolt right here. 00:32

What is going to happen is it is going to fit on the inside of the vehicle and it is going to be sitting at an angle like this on the inside so they will not be overlapping each other but they will be sitting side by side. To get the hardware in position we are going to be using what is called a bolt leader and that does not come with the kit but it is sold separately as part number 80101-1. This is our bolt leader and it has got the threads on the end. We are just going to screw the bolt into it to pull it through. Put it through the hole we are going to use first and then out our access hole which is basically the other hole we are going to use. We are going to slide our block into place, just push on top of the wire. 01:07

We are going to take our bolt and we are going thread this end into the bolt leader, push it up in, and pull it back out. Now on the second hole we are going to go through the hole and come right back through it again. We are going to take the block, put it over the bolt leader, thread in the bolt, push everything inside and pull it back through so the plate sits in there. Rotate the plates and make sure they are not overlapping and we are already done with the hardware for our driver side. We are going to repeat the same process back over on the passenger side. We can start installing the hitch on to our hardware where we just installed. To hold the hitch up into position we are going to be using a conical tooth washer and nut. Also an extra set of hands to help hold everything in place. When we install the hitch make sure that this flange is the inside of this pinch weld. It should be on this side, not this side. Once we have the hitch loosely installed we want to make sure that we do not pinch this wire so just pull it out to stay out of the way and then we will finger tighten the nuts and make sure the flange is against the pinch weld. Pull all the way back and then we will snug down the bolts. 02:34

Our space for our drill is pretty limited so we are going to be using a right angle drill. The drill bit we are going to use to drill out the holes is going to be a 3/ 8 drill bit. Lets install our hardware since we have got our holes drilled. Using 3/ 8 hardware and a flat washer going from the outside in and on the backside we will use a lock washer and a nut. With the driver side assembled lets go over to the passenger side and repeat the same process. With all of our hardware installed we will snug them down and then after that we will torque them down as specified in the instructions. With all of our bolts torqued down that will finish our install. Now that we have got our vehicle off the lift we will give you a couple of measurements on the hitch in your ion of some hitch accessories for your vehicle. From the top of the receiver tube down to the ground on this particular vehicle is 12-7/ 8 inches. From the center of the hitch pin to the outside edge of the bumper we are looking at about 8 inches. There you have it for part number 87004 from Hidden Hitch.
