The Square Wheels Magic Trick is a quick and fun way to engage session participants in the theme of transitions and change. You start by showing them the simple illustration called Square Wheels One and, by folding and then unfolding the page, you surprise them by showing a series of images impossible to have on one sheet of paper. The trick involves gluing a second, hidden sheet of paper with different images onto the back of the first sheet. The real beauty of the trick comes when you give them copies of both pages and a glue stick, showing them how to assemble the pages and then getting them to practice telling your story about the transformation while learning the trick themselves. What could be a better framework for learning than getting participants actively engaged in the metaphor and telling each other a story as they are totally involved in learning the trick? And they can take this trick home to show their children.Cheap, effective and fun.
